Topic Tidbits

"Tid-bit = n: also tit-bit(variant) - A choice morsel; a small tasty bit of food (syn: choice morsel, titbit)" - The American Heritage Dictionary, 4th Edition

This section of our web page will provide just that - a choice morsel of food for thought pertaining to training trends. This feature will be updated quarterly to reflect current topics, as well as, to supplement some of the resources provided in LAC keynote speeches or conference concurrent sessions. This is not meant to be all inclusive coverage of a topic but just a "tidbit" for you to consider and chew on. If the topic interests you, feel free to contact us for more information.

A Change in the Works

2009 is quickly coming to an end and 2010 is waiting to be started with new goals and resolutions. Are you ready? 2010 preparations might begin with some of the following actions:
  • Consider what is critical for 2010 to be successful. What can you do to make that happen?
  • What are your S.M.A.R.T.E.R. goals as you enter 2010?
  • What are new “pinpointed” expectations for you? Your employees and team members?
  • What will customers be looking for? How will you get this to them?
  • What will be the greatest challenge for you to handle in 2010? How?
At the end of the calendar year, it is time to begin to look forward and establish new goals personally and for the business. It is a time for planning, change and commitment. At Learning Alliances Company we are no different and we want to share our excitement about what we will be implementing in 2010.

Four years ago, Shirley N. Stelbrink joined Learning Alliances Company as the Lead Trainer Consultant. As LAC’s customer base and needs grew, this addition was an excellent way to meet the growing needs. Shirley was THE CHOICE for LAC as she had previously worked as a subcontractor with LAC and our customers.

Over the past four years, as a full time employee, Shirley has worked with over 90% of LAC customers, used and refined our training materials and has diligently participated in our way of business. The result has been a sound relationship with the LAC customers as well as improved, higher quality materials and workshops. Laura and Shirley are proud of the past four years together and are ready for the next change.

On January 1, 2010, Shirley will legally take over the ownership of Learning Alliances Company. She will own all of the custom-designed materials and take those to a new level with her energy and focus. Although many of you have already worked with and requested Shirley for your training and facilitation needs, we wanted to be sure that you were informed of this transition. We have worked over the past four years to ensure that this change be effortless for you, our customer! The phone number, logo, topics, materials and responsive service which you have received in the past from LAC will remain the same.

With Shirley as the company owner, Laura will be available to advise Shirley and share insights into any customer history, as needed. Laura’s confidence in Shirley, after working with her for more than 7 years, is high. If you have not had an opportunity to work with Shirley, please call the office and begin to enjoy the energy and commitment which Shirley brings.

2010 will bring a well planned and thorough transition to LAC. Laura valued her relationships and business opportunities with each customer. For that reason, she felt strongly that the business should be sold to someone with the same philosophy, concern and energy for our customers. We are confident that 2010 will be a strong year for LAC and will provide our customers with continued responsive and customized training to meet the New Year challenges.

We are committed to making this change work for YOU and continuing to provide the high quality training, facilitation, keynote speeches and value added services which LAC has become known by. With the use of a strong transition plan, S.M.A.R.T.E.R. goals and “pinpointed” expectations of service, we are confident that you can rest assured that our change will only positively impact your ability to actualize your personal and business 2010 goals.
